So what should a band do when they can’t seem to get a deal in their own country? Go and get yourself record deals everywhere else in the world of course...
Down For The Count are a group of 5 young guys, who have been a full band since 2004 now after originally starting as an acoustic duo. They’re straight out of California and are barely out of the teens but that has not stop this ambitious bunch from seeking a major record deal in the US and though they have gained much interest and been given many promises in the past, nothing has ever materialised and many a deal has fallen through.
So despite the setbacks, Down For The Count have continued on and have self-financed the recording of their debut album “Broken Record Tactics” which they recorded with producer Chris Collier (who has worked with bands such as Hellogoodbye and Self Against City). The album has seen them sign with Kick Rock Music in Japan, and more recently, Pep-Rock Records in the UK and Europe. Down For The Count may still be searching for a deal in the US but at least the rest of the world seem to be catching on.
“Broken Record Tactics” will be released in the UK and Europe on June 4th 2007 and will include the download only single “Less Than Three Is Enough For Me” which was released on all major download sites on May 21st 2007.
