Band Of The Month
Day At The Fair - The Rocking Chair Years - Andy
Album Cover

Day At The Fair are a new Drive-thru records band and ‘The Rocking Chair Years’ is a typical Drive-thru release. There’s the catchy choruses, the big melodies and the usual songs about lost love. Don’t get me wrong though, this album is really good and if you like other Drive-thru artists like Something Corporate, Allister and Homegrown then your bound to like Day At The Fair.

The album kicks off with a great Pop-Punk song in the form of ‘Coda’ which has a great guitar riff as well as the essential group vocals if your going to make a pop-punk anthem, this is one of my favourites from the album. Another great song is ‘Pale In Comparison’ which is a great pop-rock ballad with a really catchy chorus and some really great vocals from Chris Barker. ‘The Lost, The Lucky’ is more of the same with another really catchy chorus while ‘Erasing Wiks’ and ‘Remembering Britt’ are more upbeat summer anthems.

All in all this is a really solid record with some great songs that I’m sure will win the band many new fans. To be honest if your looking for something with more originality then move along because this is not the album for you. However if you are looking for a fun Pop-Punk-Emo album from a great new Drive-thru band then check out Day At The Fair because they will be your cup of tea.
