Driving On The Right are a London based four piece who have been playing together for just over two years and their new mini-album ‘Life Starts Here’ is their first release since joining Bravestar Records. For anyone who hasn’t heard this band yet then I would describe them as sounding similar to UK pop-punkers ‘A’ but with a Post-Hardcore edge and with ‘Life Starts Here’ they have come out with a blinding debut that will surely see them pick up a bit of recognition.
They start with ‘Just Listen’, which definitely shows the edgier side to the band and is a real highlight and shows the band at their energetic best and ready to take on the mass audiences. Driving On The Right how their more melodic tendencies on tracks like ‘Charm Offensive’ and ‘Technician’ which are both such catchy songs that will get you singing along. Jason Davenport’s vocals are definitely a real highlight of this band and so is the fact that they seem to effortlessly seem to be able to draw the listener in with their simple but very effective melodies.
Driving On The Right are a great young band and ‘Life Starts Here’ shows plenty of potential and is a must buy for fans of UK Post-Hardcore. This also proves again that Bravestar Records are one of the best Independent labels in the UK for finding new talent and DOTR will sit nicely next to bands on their current roster like Copeland and My Awesome Compilation. Expect these guys to be hitting a venue near you soon and make sure you go see them while they’re still playing smaller venues.
