Band Of The Month
Flood Of Red - The Museum Of Knives And Fire - Andy

Flood Of Red hail from Glasgow in Scotland and having been making a name for themselves this past year with a hectic tour schedule that has seen them on tour supporting some of the biggest names in the UK underground like Enter Shikari and Penknife Lovelife. All the hard work has obviously paid off as the guys have just penned a deal with Small Town Records and one of the reasons the guys got signed was because of this self-released three-track EP.

It’s obvious and plain for all to see why Small Town have signed these guys after listening to just the first track ‘Oh Yes, There Will Be Blood’. It is everything that you want from a Screamo anthem, there’s the melodicness, the crunching guitars, the perfectly placed screams and the oh so perfect song title that I’m sure will require the scene kids to pack an extra pair of underwear just in anticipation. The next song ‘Listening To Suicide In The Dark’ continues on well and sound like a mix of Underoath & From First To Last with a UK twang about it. The final track ‘Changing The Street Signs’ is probably the most disappointing and seems to lack a bit of purpose and conviction but still is enjoyable enough for what it is.

All in all Flood Of Red are currently one of the hottest bands currently doing the rounds on the UK toilet venue circuit. Now they are moving onwards and upwards though it may not be too far away until they are following the likes of Enter Shikari and The Blackout and playing the types of tours that get mentioned in Kerrang and that bands actually make money of off. So go out and make sure you catch Flood Of Red in a shit venue while you still can.
