Band Of The Month
Johnny Truant - In The Library Of Horrific Events - Rachel
Album Cover

How to confuse your album listener in one easy step. Simply split your gut-wrenching metal songs into fifteen second snippets. Not the most conventional of ideas, especially when your CD player is on shuffle. However, this strange and almost disorientating concept adds to the enigmatic persona of Johnny Truant. The connotations of a library, as we all know, conjure up images of rows upon rows of books. The mp3 file version is definitely a collection of “Horrific Events”.

The semantics of this album would give “Underworld” a run for its money. Claiming a fan-base not at all un-similar to the vampire-come werewolf movie. Touring with bands such as Killswitch Engage and As I Lay Dying has thrown Johnny Truant into the realms and midst of the unknown. The top clouded by media imperialism and unjustified biased, that nature of today’s music industry has been blown apart by Johnny Truant and their rise to success.

“Horrific Events” is an album inspired by the darker side of a human’s life. They’ve done the hard work, now reaping the benefits. The painful poignancy and the sublimely poetic nature mashed by heavy metal riffs incorporates an antithesis of emotions in an entirely different manner that works in a completely different way.

Be warned, this album is not for the weak stomached or feeble minded, it’ll rip at your heart, chew it up and spit it out. The proverbial bruises left will haunt you long after the CD has stopped. Come on take a listen, I dare you!
