Now my friend Rob had told me about these guys quite a while ago and I kept on meaning to get a copy of this EP but I never did but then one day Jess asked me if I wanted her copy because she didn’t really like it so of course I snapped it up. For those who don’t know MAC, they are a four piece band from Leicestershire , England . They are made up from two sets of brothers and they released ‘The View Is Amazing’ quite a while ago now. This EP is a great first release and I would say that My Awesome Compilation could possibly be the UK ’s answer to The Get Up Kids.

‘As Always’ is the first, and one of the best, songs on the EP and is just an infectious song from start to finish, if this doesn’t get you singing along then check your pulse because you might possibly be dead. ‘Giving Up’ is next and another good song although the vocals don’t sound as good on this one it is still a great track. ‘Butterflies’ is another song worth mentioning as it is a beautiful song, Chris Driver’s vocals really stand out on this one. My favourite on the EP though has to be ‘Wish You Well’ which is another beautiful song and contains some great lyrics like “If a book was my life, you’d at least be a chapter, titled ‘One not to forget’”. This is an amazing song that you need to listen to and then I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do.

My Awesome Compilation are one of my favourite English bands around at the moment and I am really looking forward to their first full length album which is due out at the end of the summer. They played a couple of new songs on their UK recent tours with Fall Out Boy and Motion City Soundtrack and they sound extremely promising and I am personally really excited about their new album. However back to the subject in hand, ‘The View Is Amazing’ is a great collection of songs from a band that needs to be heard so if you like bands like The Get Up Kids, Motion City Soundtrack or Jimmy Eat World then check out My Awesome Compilation because it isn’t just the view that is amazing when it comes to this EP.
