Tonight is Halloween and also the final night of the Midtown & Hidden In Plain View UK tour. No one appears to be dressed up for the occasion but it’s still a night that a lot of people have been looking forward to. The first band on the bill tonight is UK Screamo/Post Hardcore band ‘Days Of Grace’ who put on a good set and leave front man Patrick Currier plenty of room so that he can do his thing. They are a band full of energy and ideas and from what I’ve seen tonight and I’ve been hearing recently they could moving up the billing in the not to distant future.

Hidden In Plain View are the next band on and its when they come that we see the first Halloween costumes of the evening although I’m not quite sure what they are suppose to be. A fully face painted HIPV burst out their awesome blend of Emo and Pop-Punk but unfortunately the response from the crowd just isn’t as lively as when I saw these guys open the Drive-Thru UK Invasion tour earlier in the year. The highlights of their set are ‘Belly Full Of Kerosene’, their final track ‘Twenty Below’ and their amazing new song ‘Bleed For You’.

Next up are Midtown and I missed the first couple of their songs because I was still backstage doing an interview with the HIPV guys but when I emerge the crowd seem a little more energetic, not a lot but at least a bit more. Only Heath from Midtown seemed to join HIPV on the costume front and his was the best of the night with a simply amazing Andrew W K costume. Their set consisted of a lot more newer songs than old which was a little bit of a disappointment as on a night like Halloween older, more Pop-Punky, songs like ‘Direction’ & ‘Let Go’ would have really injected a bit more fun into the Halloween proceedings. However apart from that this is an excellent performance and my personal favourites of their performance was new song ‘Give It Up’ and their final song of the evening ‘Just Rock’n’Roll’ which got the crowd going properly crazy for the first time of the evening.

Your always guaranteed a good night when you get to see 2 bands that you really like for the price of 1 and when its on Halloween evening its even better. All three bands put on brilliant performances but my personal favourites were probably HIPV and ‘Bleed For You’ was just pure quality and if it is a sign of things to come from them then 2005 will be a massive year for them.
