Band Of The Month
Daphne Loves Derby Interview 05.10.05 - Andy

Pep-Rock: Could you please tell us your name and what you do in the band?

Kenny: My name is Kenny, and I sing and play guitar in Daphne

Pep-Rock: How's everything been for you guys since the release of 'On the Strength of All Convinced'?
Kenny: Things have been amazing for us since the beginning of summer. Our first tour went so much better than we hoped for, and now we leave soon for our fall tour with Copeland.

Pep-Rock: What's the general reaction been from the fans in regards to the new album?
Kenny: We have received great feedback from our fans. Even though the album sound quite different from our normal sound, people still enjoy it.

Pep-Rock: How would you describe yourselves as a band to someone who's never heard of you guys before?
Kenny: I guess just mellow rock and roll.

Pep-Rock: I heard somewhere that you guys have had like 2 million plays on Purevolume and it very much seems as if Daphne Loves Derby and the Internet go hand in hand. Do you like the Internet? Dislike the Internet?
Kenny: We owe the Internet a lot. We got this band's name out there by promoting ourselves online, and we would not be where we are without that. For smaller bands like us, the Internet is a very powerful thing. Bands can promote and build a fan base even before they can afford to tour.

Pep-Rock: How did you guys all meet?
Kenny: We all used to live really close to each other, and we met through other
local bands.

Pep-Rock: What have Daphne Loves Derby got planned for the rest of 2005?
Kenny: Tour all fall long, and then take a break at home while writing for our second album.

Pep-Rock: Any plans to come and visit us folks over in the UK in the near future?
Kenny: We would love to play in the UK! We can't afford the trip yet, but we do have a lot of friends over there, and it would be an amazing trip.

Pep-Rock: Right, if you guys had the chance to be an animal for the day. What animal would you be and why? As an example I would choose to be a Hippo because I think they Rock and I also really enjoyed playing Hungry Hungry Hippos when I was a kid.
Kenny: I would like to be a blue whale so I could explore the ocean.

Pep-Rock: Do you guys have any last comments or closing statements?
Kenny: Please give our album a chance if you haven't yet, and if you do... please come to our shows because I promise you will have fun! Much love.

Pep-Rock: Cheers
