Pep-Rock: Could you please tell us your name and what you do in the band?

Tom: Hi I’m Tom and I play drums.

Ben: I’m Ben and I play guitar and I’m on vocals.

Adam: Adam and I play bass and vocals too.

Usi: I’m Usi and I play guitar and vocals.

Pep Rock: How did you come up with the band name ‘Hollywood Ending’?

Adam: The guy on our site came up with it and it just kind of stuck from there.

Ben: We used to be called Lazy Jack but we changed it when we realised we were moving on as a band in terms of material and Hollywood Ending seemed cool and so it stuck. I think it suits us and our style of music.

Pep Rock: How did you all meet?

Adam: At school, we were all the class clowns.

Tom: I’m younger than these guys, I wasn’t in school with them. I’m two years younger, the baby.

Pep Rock: You’re signed with the Mighty Atom Records label, which band would you recommend from the label?

Ben: Cry For Silence.

Adam: Yeah, Cry For Silence.

Pep Rock: For people who don’t know Hollywood Ending, which song of yours would you recommend?

Ben: ‘You and Myself’ or ‘Angel Town Part 2’.

Pep Rock: What about ‘Beginning of the Middle’ the one that was on a free Rock Sound CD?

Ben: Yeah, that’s a good one too.

Pep Rock: Who do you consider your influences?

Usi: Green Day, Deftones…that’s basically it and Vanessa Carlton sometimes, only sometimes though.

Adam: In Flames are the newest ones for me.

Tom: The Village People.

Pep Rock: Do you feel that music is becoming more about fashion rather than music?

Usi: Yeah, in terms of a lot of hardcore bands I think that is the case. It’s all becoming a transgender, girl-trouser wearing emo scene.

Ben: I think it also stems from boy bands trying to becoming ‘punk’ and ‘alternative’ wearing all those big, baggy skater jeans and stuff. They just choose to follow whatever’s call to win fans I think.

Usi: It’s a shame that people are losing their grip on the reality of music and concentrating on fashion.

Pep Rock: What’s next for Hollywood Ending?

Usi: We’re gonna wrap this tour up and concentrating on writing after that.

Ben: We’ve got some new stuff written but at the moment we’re too worried about tightening our current sets for this tour but we really want to move onto new stuff now.

Pep Rock: Who would you most hate to be stuck in a lift with?

Usi: Gwen Stefani and Abi Titmuss.

Ben: Leander (Bad Weasel) from Hiding With Girls. Make sure you write that! (laughs). First time I met him I thought he was arrogant…but we soon found out he was putting on this pretentious act as a joke, he’s a sound guy really.

Adam: The New York lift killer would be pretty crap to get stuck in a lift with. If he exists.

Tom: Yeah, or a suicide bomber. Someone annoying.

Usi: Yeah, like Abi Titmuss.

Tom: No, like Usi.

Usi: Shut up!

Pep Rock: Thanks guys for the interview, any closing words?

Usi: Yeah, going back to that question before about fashion…kids, don’t aspire to be scenesters, it’s all about music not fashion.

Adam: (laughs). Oh, god!

Ben: Shut up, that’s a rubbish last thing to say!

Usi: What?! They’re good closing words!

Adam: Err, yeah.
